COMMUNITY HUB

- Musical Exhibitions: Regular shows are presented throughout the year, each with their own style and backgrounds. When we enjoy music together, we not only advance the public’s appreciation of the music but create community.
- Cultural Performances: An interactive event that showcases the cultures within the community. Individuals come together and share their talents in various types of dance and other arts to foster learning through the exchange of experiences.
- Exchange Program: Expand your mind through the Exchange Program that pairs you with an unfamiliar culture and provides a unique learning experience for both parties. The program creates a sense of community through learning of each other’s differences and enables people to share their stories.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
We offer various programs that enable youth to become an active member of their community through the development of crucial life skills.
- Leadership Lessons: A consistent program that encourages personal growth through self-confidence exercises, volunteer placement opportunities, and collaboration with others to create a lasting impact.
- Career Coaching: A program to aid in the development and advancement of the vocational abilities of youth through a set curriculum; including resume writing, computer skills, and employment counselling.
- Summer Youth: An annual Summer Camp carried out to implement the life skills learned throughout the year in a lively environment, through team building, recreational and educational activities, and a consistent social schedule.

SENIORS CIRCLE
A meeting place for seniors to feel accepted, empowered, and an important part of a greater community. The Circle offers various daily recreational activities and other social gatherings to aid those who have experienced social isolation and loneliness.
- Health Hub: A place for seniors to gather and learn about the various remedies and cures for common ailments. With a focus on nutrition and exercise seniors are encouraged to experiment with new wellness treatments and healthy recipes.
- Recreation activities: A space to encourage social interaction through various games and activities. With the option to join teams, leagues, or perhaps drop in whenever you have the time.

WORK-FORCE INTEGRATION PROGRAM
Our program addresses local and national priorities such as Needs Assessment, Information and Orientation, and Support Services for the workforce to address specialized curriculum for youth and refugee youth under Ontario Region along with women, newcomers and seniors.
- Need Assessment and Referral Services: The Need Assessment and Referral Services provide a comprehensive needs assessment of all the clients, develop a customized personal plan and help them to achieve their job-placement in a timely manner. The program provides seamless referral services to, employment related and community connection services including community resources;
- Information and Orientation Services: Our program helps the women and newcomers to have access to the information and orientation on the broad range of topics such as housing, education, health, language training, employment, labour market information, legal and administrative systems and information they need to settle in their community. Our project provides relevant, timely and accurate information to exercise their democratic rights and responsibilities as a Canadian citizen. The pre-employment services offering employment readiness determination, assistance with job placements/trials, career decision making, introduction to the Canadian-work-culture, current labour-market information, interview techniques, resume writing/cover letters, banking/financial management, process for citizenship, accreditation/language training, community engagement, etc. to help them access a wide range of information that ensures them towards their career goals.Our program adopts case management approach for highly vulnerable clients that face multiple barriers. The project closely monitors the progress of the vulnerable clients in terms of mental health and trauma, literacy and language training, employment, life skills and connecting them with community-based supports.
- Apprenticeship Programs: In addition to providing information on entering the workforce, the Atlantic Community Center also has an Apprenticeship Program that allows those in a skills trade or workmanship career to expand their knowledge and experience by working with an expert.
- Support Services: The program addresses different barriers the newcomers face to access services such as transportation and official language barriers. The program provides clients that attend the group info sessions on relevant topics with translation and interpretation services in case of language barriers the seniors, women and newcomers face while accessing government and other services.
